A branch of Indian Armed Forces named as Indian Coast Guard [ ICG ] was formed on 18th August 1978 under the Coast Guard Act 1978. Government of India under the Ministry of Defence is fully responsible for controlling ICG. It is basically for the protection of maritime resources and also its safety.
Indian Coast Guard needs experienced and dedicated personnel for the post of Naviks at general duty and for this it has published an advertisement notification in its official website. Interested Indian Nationals are invited and can apply latest by 8th July 2011. All the posts are under special recruitment drives.
52 vacancies are for the post of Naviks [ General Duty ] under the pay scale of Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with Rs. 2000/- as grade pay. Candidates applying for this post should not be less than 18 years and even not more than 28 years of age and should have passed 12th standard with Mathematics and Physics. Height of the candidates should be at least 157 cms, chest should be well proportioned.
Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidates in written test, Physical Fitness test and medical examinations. Written test will be held at the centres of Dehradun, Nagpur, Bhopal, Cuttack, Vishakhapatnam, Shillong, Gandhi nagar and Kavaratti.
